New York, July 8, 2025 — G-Knot announced the appointment of Wes Kaplan as Chief Executive Officer. Kaplan will lead the company’s next phase of growth and the launch of what G-Knot bills as the world’s first finger vein biometric wallet.

G-Knot is the exclusive licensee of eTunnel Inc., a Seoul-based global leader in biometric research and development, and is built on over a decade of research and development of cutting-edge finger vein technology. G-Knot leverages unforgeable biometric data to eliminate vulnerabilities, such as compromised private keys and recovery phrases, addressing a critical pain point in the digital asset industry. With cryptocurrency hacks resulting in over $1.4 billion in losses in 2025 alone, G-Knot’s finger vein crypto wallet introduces a transformative solution for secure self-custody. G-Knot’s goal is to bring its technology to market through consumer and enterprise-grade products, starting with the launch of the world’s first finger vein crypto wallet. This product is the first of many commercial use cases for biometric identification technology.

New York, July 8, 2025 — G-Knot announced the appointment of Wes Kaplan as Chief Executive Officer. Kaplan will lead the company’s next phase of growth and the launch of what G-Knot bills as the world’s first finger vein biometric wallet.

The move comes as security risks continue to challenge the digital asset industry. Losses from crypto hacks have surpassed two billion dollars in 2025. G-Knot’s approach combines live tissue finger vein recognition with strong cryptographic controls to protect keys, transactions, and device integrity.

G-Knot is the exclusive licensee of eTunnel Inc., a Seoul-based innovator in vein biometrics. The company’s products are designed to remove common points of failure in self custody, including compromised private keys and recovery phrases, while improving the user experience for both retail and institutional holders.

Kaplan brings leadership experience from both traditional finance and digital assets. He previously served as CEO of Cointelegraph and held executive roles at AscendEX and Tradewind Markets. Earlier roles at J.P. Morgan and BNY Mellon provide additional depth in risk, operations, and market structure.

“G-Knot is poised to redefine security for digital assets, and I am honored to lead this mission,” said Kaplan. “Our focus is to make holding and using crypto feel simple and safe for consumers and enterprises.”

G-Knot plans to introduce a suite of consumer and enterprise offerings with the finger vein wallet as the flagship. The roadmap includes secure device pairing, PKI-backed firmware signing, and tools that help institutions meet privacy and compliance requirements.

About the Technology

Live finger vein authentication with presentation attack detection verifies that a real person is present. Biometric templates are stored on the device, not in the cloud, to protect privacy. Keys are secured by hardware and the device accepts only signed firmware updates to reduce tampering risk. Each device uses PKI identity with certificate backed pairing so communication is trusted. The recovery model is designed to remove reliance on traditional recovery phrases.
